Awesome TV, Mediocre Amazon Delivery Service
Could not be happier with this TV. Really, it's exceptional. I had it narrowed down between this and a similar Sony model. I literally just picked the one that had the better reviews.
The ordering process was quick and easy, and 48 hours later I got a call from the CEVA delivery service, scheduling the "white glove" delivery.
What a crock. If by "white glove service", you mean a dude who asks "do you want me to bring it inside?" while standing in your building's lobby, then yes, it was indeed, "white glove". After taking the 15 foot walk, he set it down in my living room, handed me the papers to sign, and then clearly expected a tip. I asked him if he could unpack it, and the dude looked at me like I was severely deformed. Told him to forget it, signed and told him "thanks". The morale to the story is don't expect much in terms of "white glove". Mr. Belvedere will not be delivering your TV.
Overall, happy with the TV but I'll think twice about ordering big/expensive stuff from Amazon.

Excellent Picture and Audio
I just purchased this television to replace my 42 inch Regza and my only regret is that I didn't go with the 52 inch version of this set.
First let me start off with the picture. The picture completely blows my Regza out of the water. As a matter of fact watching some of my BR and HD discs was almost like a new experience. I did look at a couple of 120hz sets but to be honest I am not sure how that would have helped my viewing experience since I am more of a movie person and I really don't care to see the director's tricks.
Now we get to the audio which has been a sore spot for many reviewers. The one caveat I should mention is that I don't have a surround sound system so I can only compare this to my Regza. One of this issues with my Toshiba was that I had to crank the volume pretty high to have anything close to a theatrical experience. Well I can say that with this television that is not a problem at all. The audio on this television is above and beyond what I have ever experienced on another television. Is it like having true surround sound? Of course not. But it is more than adequate

Samsung LN46B550 46 Inch
Outstanding television set. This is my second Samsung and I am sold on this brand.

B550 - very good value
After a lot of research I had made up my mind to get the LN46A650...unfortunately that item was discontinued so that the B series could come out this year. The B650 costs considerably more for the same features as the previous model. Unwilling to pay the extra price, I decided to go with the B550, while crossing my fingers and hoping that the lack of 120hz technology wouldn't make a difference. Guess what...it didn't. The picture on the B550 is the best you can get at this price range(trust me, I've done the research). It has plenty of picture tweaking settings, improved contrast ratio over the previous model, a really nice design, and it's CHEAP! Buy it! But make sure you have a separate audio system because the speakers on this TV are horrible. Not a big upset though; I don't think anyone buys big fancy TVs for the sound, its all about the picture and this TV's got it.

Poor Support
I purchased this TV in January 2009 and in May it developed a problem with the controls no longer interfacing with the TV (remote and side controls). At this point the TV was unusable.
Then I entered into the nightmare of trying to get Samsung to fullfil their obligation under the warranty and repair the TV.
They sent a contractor that I can never get on the phone, shows up hours later then the scheduled time, and never follows through. I have had to take countless hours out of my work day to keep calling over and over in an attempt to resolve the issue. The contractor is US Techdisplay LLC.
The repair contractor has ordered parts, replaced parts, attempted three times to repair the TV. They said on the last visit that they would make a determination that the TV can not be repaired. Since that time I can not get an answer from Samsung and can not reach the repair contractor. The repair contractor will not return phone calls. When I speak to the Samsung Executive Customer Service I get no where.
So, I have a TV that cost over 00 in my house that does not work and has not been replaced. I have taken off work to wait for the contractor on three seperate occassions and always have to make calls myself in an attempt to resolve the issue. However, nothing is being resolved.
The bottom line is that Samsung does not support their products and I advise your to buy another brand with better support so that you do not have to experience my nightmare.
